Express Your Ze: 2D Graphic Design Series

Illustration designed by Lan Anh Ng (@type.of.la) based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam πŸ‡»πŸ‡³

Express Your Ze is an Instagram series where we invited creators from all over the world to create their unique "Ze".

Here are nine graphic designers that each gave a unique and meaningful perspective through the power of design.

Brand Your Way, Grow Your Way

Iris van den Akker (@irisakka) based in Amsterdam, Netherlands πŸ‡³πŸ‡±

Floral 2D graphic illustration

"I got inspired by your slogan β€˜Brand your way, grow your way’ and therefore I drew β€˜Ze’ in a field of growing flowers, as a metaphor of a growing business."

Adapting to Brands

Ignacio Fernandez (@el_chiquito) based in Paris, France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

Ze Typography Illustration

"I made this piece with the wavy flow because ZeBrand as a product is seamless to use, and adapts itself to the brands."

Brand Your Imagination

Erin Hope (@hi.im.erin) based in Tokyo, Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Wildlife 2D graphic illustration

"I wanted to express the beautiful nature we live in. Living in the city, I like to imagine myself in nature and when my next adventure will be."

Form Follows Function

Lan Anh Ng (@type.of.la) based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam πŸ‡»πŸ‡³

Groovy 2D Graphic Illustration

"My Ze artwork represents a piece of a puzzle, which refers to human personalities with mixing and matching emotions. Focusing on the inner aspect will build up more creativity. The artwork also demonstrates some parts of the positive personalities like friendliness, kindness, and dreaminess. The part that shows my personality the most is the way I treated the letter "Z". It's not special treatment, but it solves the problem of laying out and balancing. It's relevant to my favorite rule: design follows functional."

Dancing Type Design

Blaze Type (@blazetype) based in France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

Red Cursive Typography

"One of the things we love to do with type design is experimenting with ductus, the way letters are drawn and going completely off the edge with it. The beauty of using digital tools frees us from the constraints of physical tools, allowing us to proceed with designing weirdly shaped letters, dancing with each other. This Ze embodies every aspect of some of the chaotic shapes which inspire our work. One of the things that show our ethos the most is the long shaped serifs and the ligatures collapsing between the Z & e."

Vector Universe

Erik Gonzalez (@erikdgmx) based in Mexico πŸ‡²πŸ‡½

Vector Graphic Illustration

"I was attracted to making the letters, Z and E, the center of a small vector universe (which is one of my favorite techniques to illustrate), creating an architectural landscape combining an urban environment with small islands of nature, as well as details of classic and modern architecture to achieve a balance endowed with vibrant colors (which are my favorites), without losing the reading of the β€œZe” but achieving a geometric, attractive and entertaining piece to look at thanks to this small micro-universe around my Ze."

Composition, Form, and Humor

Marta Przeciszewska (@martaprzeciszewska) based in Poland πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±

Pink Typography Illustration

"I wanted to express the process of being creative and how you learn by making mistakes and taking risks. When you work with typography, it is important to focus on the detail. In my personal design practice, I pay special attention to the composition and form of letters. I always try to have fun and add a bit of humor to my work. I followed those usual steps of mine while designing my β€œZe” :) "

Brands Brought to Life through Light

Ana Miminoshvili (@anano__) based in Georgia πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Dark 2D Illustration

"In this artwork I focused on finding light and color in the darkness, making it fun. The letter Z and E are the exact same color as the background, but "Ze'' comes to life with the help of the light it's reflecting"

Surreal Scenarios through Space Portals

Buba Viedma (@bubaviedma) based in Madrid, Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

Rabbit Snake Illustration

"The illustration is located in the universe of "The Rabbit and the Snake", a series of illustrations based on dreams. In them, a white rabbit is eternally chased by a snake that tries to devour it. In this escape, they travel through dreamlike and surreal scenarios through space portals."
